It’s time to get out to some of New Jersey’s farmers markets, since both the state and national governments have declared this the week to celebrate local markets that sell local produce and other wares. New Jersey has 141 community markets, eight of which are new this season. Many of them are beginning to accept vouchers from the Women, Infants and Children (WIC) and Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program. Health Commissioner Mary O’Dowd says that 105,000 vouchers were used at markets in 2012.
