Super Bowl left NJ sportsbooks on the wrong side of the bet

New Jersey’s sportsbooks had a busy Super Bowl Sunday, as $54.2 million was wagered by New Jersey gamblers. But preliminary estimates from the Division of Gaming Enforcement found sportsbooks ended up losing money, as they had to pay out more than they took in.

An Assembly Committee has approved a bill that would set up a pilot program that would allow state agencies to sell ads on their websites in order to raise money for New Jersey’s general fund.

Traffic really has gotten worse, it’s not your imagination. The Port Authority says it set passenger records in 2019 for traffic over the bridges and tunnels, PATH train ridership and airport travel.
