State treasurer defends Murphy administration’s revised FY21 budget

The state treasurer’s office is dealing with COVID-created revenue shortfalls, a tight budget schedule and now, the added effort of navigating federal requirements to get extra unemployment money in the hands of New Jersey workers. Gov. Phil Murphy previously said the state “couldn’t afford” to take part in the program. So what’s changed?
