There’s some deja vu for restaurant owners Monday as Gov. Phil Murphy announced limited indoor dining can resume Friday, Sept. 4.
Movie theaters will also reopen on Sept. 4 with restrictions. Indoor religious and political gatherings are getting a bump to 25% capacity or 150 people, whichever is less. The announcement comes as the United States surpasses 6 million confirmed coronavirus cases.
In New Jersey the latest data shows 352 new cases. The state’s cumulative total is now 191,960. With eight new deaths, statewide there is 15,945 confirmed and probable fatalities caused by the virus. Murphy says he can’t guarantee the plan won’t get pulled back as it did in July, but he’d be stunned if it did.
