In sharp defiance of President Trump, today Governor Murphy announced the November 3rd general election will be held almost entirely by mail to ensure the safety and security of both residents and their vote during this pandemic. Every registered voter will be sent a mail in ballot in early October but there will be a select number of in-person polling sites across the state, those voters will need to use a provisional ballot. The high stakes decision is in opposition to many county officials and republican lawmakers and comes on the heels of Trump’s decision not to support emergency funding backing a mail-in system over his claims it can lead to fraud and delayed results.
