Gov. Phil Murphy says public schools will have the option to start the school year remotely. That’s if they can’t meet health and safety standards for in-person instruction. Wednesday the health department reported 484 new positive tests. The statewide total is now 185,938. That’s with nine new deaths and 15,885 confirmed and probable fatalities. A positive sign is that the rate of transmission remains below 1.0.
