FoodBank President and CEO Debra Vizzi captured with NY Giants players.

The New York Giants and Stop &Shop rolled up their sleeves during a visit to the Community FoodBank of New Jersey for its annual “Turkey Express.”

Stop & Shop donated 1,500 turkeys for Thanksgiving, and Giants players helped unload the truck.

“While this is an especially busy time of year for us, and we’re so grateful for the abundance of support, it is also important to remember that hunger doesn’t only happen at the holidays — it is an issue year-round. The Giants demonstrate teamwork and defeating hunger takes a team effort. In addition to helping us unload the truck full of turkeys, the players donated their time by volunteering at the FoodBank,” said President and CEO Debra Vizzi.

The FoodBank will hosts its annual Turkey Drive Nov. 18 and 19 at more than 50 sites across New Jersey, collecting frozen turkeys and hams, stuffing, canned vegetables, and more to help food-insecure New Jersey families share a special Thanksgiving meal. There’s information about sites and times at cfbnj.org/turkey.

This Thanksgiving, the FoodBank hopes to provide holiday essentials for 28,000 families.
