A victory for DACA / The future of live music

In a stunning decision, the U.S. Supreme Court has blocked President Trump’s attempt to end the DACA program. David is joined by NJ DACA recipient and Make the Road NJ organizer Deyanira Aldańa to talk about what the decision means for hundreds of thousands of young people across the country.

Then, a conversation on the state of Jersey’s live music scene. With no touring, no shows and no end date in sight, how have musicians carried on?

David is joined by Jersey City mainstay Bryan Beninghove to talk about how the pandemic has put an end to popular live events like the city’s jazz festival. And Grammy-winning artist Paquito D’Rivera was supposed to be on a tour around the world right about now. He tells David about how he’s turned to teaching and social media to stay connected.

And yes, they will be playing some music.
