Free-time activity: “I enjoy spending time with my family. My husband and I have always been big baseball fans, and we’re thrilled that our boys are picking it up. Whether playing catch in the backyard or going locally to a Somerset Patriots game, my six-year-old loves to keep score while my four-year-old enjoys the rubber ducky races between innings. On the rare occasion when I get a few minutes to just myself: sitting down with a good book and escaping into somebody else’s universe for a few moments is very precious to me.”

Hello, my name is Stacey Gunderman, and I’m a Candidate for State Assembly in Legislative District 21. My husband and I are raising our family in New Providence in the home we bought when we got married eleven years ago - it’s the only home our family of four has ever known.
Growing up, my family owned a small catering business, where I began working at a very young age. College wasn’t a financial reality for my family when I graduated high school, so I had to work hard to support myself while also pursuing my passions.
I decided to enter a career in sales where I could balance work and family. My profession has given me the opportunity to help people find insurance policies that fit their needs, financial products that help our neighbors build their savings, and help seniors move into retirement communities where they can remain close to their families here in the Garden State.
My business know-how wasn’t taught to me in a classroom, but rather I earned it in real-world experiences as a working mom with two young boys. I want to bring my unique experiences to Trenton, where we must take on the affordability crisis that’s hurting middle-class families and seniors, protect our environment for future generations, modernize our transportation system, and strengthen our schools.
These public policy challenges require new ideas and fresh approaches to achieve the innovative solutions we need to move New Jersey forward, and as your State Assemblywoman, I know that together we can make happen.
For too long our District has been failed by disconnected politicians that opposed gun violence reforms, worsened our tax burden, and neglected our public transportation, infrastructure, and schools. We all know that if you really want to change Trenton, you start by changing the type of people you send to Trenton.
As your State Assemblywoman, I am committed to modernizing public transportation, investing in infrastructure and education, reducing our tax burden, supporting small businesses and making tough decisions to fix the fiscal crisis in our state government for future generations.
I will listen, be responsive, be accountable and bring fresh perspectives. Because you deserve better.
With your support, I will represent our shared priorities and values, always be on your side, and work tirelessly for the 21st Legislative District.
