There’s just so much to do – especially in Monmouth County – and it’s a good way to help me decompress and take the time to enjoy the great area in which we live.”

I’m Matt Woolley and I’m running to represent Legislative District 11 in the New Jersey General Assembly.
Born and raised in District 11, I am a product and reflection of this community. I hope to live here for the rest of my life, but unless things change, that might not be possible.
New Jersey has become too expensive for almost everyone who lives here. Millennials, families, pre-retirees, senior citizens – especially those who rely on a fixed or single income – are moving out of New Jersey at an alarming rate. I will fight to improve the economic factors that are forcing our family members, friends, neighbors and colleagues to relocate to low-cost states. New Jersey had more outbound moves than any other state last year. This trend must end.
My opponents – our current legislators – voted to cut $65 million from school districts across District 11 and give our money to schools in other counties. Not only does this hurt District 11 students and dedicated educators, but our expenses will increase to make up for the lost aid. I deeply respect our public education system – my grandmother is a retired school nurse and former teacher of the year at Long Branch Public Schools. I will work to ensure all schools receive equitable funding and maintain high educational standards – not pit districts against one another. Every student is a priority.
New Jersey’s mass transit is unreliable and costly, and our infrastructure is crumbling. Commuters are constantly slammed with fare hikes and toll increases, yet see no improvements to the delays that plague our trains or potholes that scar our roads. There is nothing more frustrating than traveling home after a long day at work, only to be delayed by train equipment problems or traffic caused by road closures – I know because I’ve been there. I will push for better management of our transportation agencies and against policies that negatively impact commuters and their wallets.
We cannot afford Governor Murphy’s $4 billion spending increase. Our students cannot afford school funding cuts. Our teachers cannot afford reduced payments to the pension system. Our families cannot afford the effects of overdevelopment and a decline in our quality of life. We need representation that doesn’t see us as an ATM, but as people who deserve to enjoy the lives we are working so hard to build.
It would be an honor to represent District 11 in the General Assembly. If you live in Allenhurst, Asbury Park, Colts Neck, Deal, Eatontown, Freehold Borough, Freehold Township, Interlaken, Loch Arbour, Long Branch, Neptune City, Neptune Township, Ocean Township, Red Bank, Shrewsbury Borough, Shrewsbury Township, Tinton Falls or West Long Branch – I humbly ask for your vote. Thank you.
