Hi, my name is Lisa Mandelblatt and I’m a Candidate for the General Assembly in the 21st Legislative District. I grew up in Springfield, and my husband and I raised our children in Westfield.
I’m a retired attorney and spent almost a decade teaching in Westfield’s public schools. As the President of the PTO and a member of the Board of Trustees at Temple Emanu-el, I have seen firsthand how our laws and policies affect our communities.
My parents moved to Springfield when I was three for the great jobs and great schools. They still live in the house I grew up in and I want them to be able to stay there. And I want my own children to someday want to move back to New Jersey for the same reasons their grandparents did so many years ago.
New Jersey is the birthplace of American innovation. It’s where inventors came to create great businesses because New Jersey had the space to build factories, the workforce to man them, the transportation networks to move goods to market, and access to New York’s financial center.
I’m a proud Jersey girl, but I also recognize that we have real problems here in our district and our state. When I talk to voters I hear the same concerns over and over again:
● Folks want quality healthcare and they want to be able to pay for their prescription drugs
● They want their kids in strong schools, where they spend their days actively learning, not practicing active shooter drills
● They want clean water, clean air and real progress made on stopping climate change
● And they really would like to see New Jersey Transit get its act together.
People used to say that there isn’t a Democratic or Republican way to fix a pothole or educate a child. But lately, the incumbent politicians in our district are more focused on dividing us rather than working to solve problems.
Nothing will change until we change who we send to Trenton. We cannot trust the arsonist to put out the fire. I want to get things done. I’ll work with anyone and frankly, I don’t care who gets the credit, as long as we move New Jersey forward.
How we raise our public money and how we spend it put our values and priorities into action. We show our commitment to New Jersey residents by fully funding New Jersey Transit, investing in infrastructure, and ensuring New Jersey’s solvency now and for future generations.
So, if you also believe that it’s time for change, I’m asking you to cast your vote for me, Lisa Mandelblatt, to be your next Assemblywoman from the 21st District.
