Head of MVC on Reopening: ‘I Didn’t Anticipate Drivers’ Built-Up Anxiety’

Chief Administrator Sue Fulton explains how the Motor Vehicle Commission is handling the backlog

The New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission reopened last week to long lines of hundreds, sometimes thousands, of people. Lining up from the early hours of the morning, residents scrambled to get licenses renewed and registrations updated after the agency was shut down for four months because of the coronavirus pandemic. The administration quickly announced a slew of changes to help ease the wait time and stress on everyone involved.
