NJ Spotlight News | September 16, 2021 | NJ Decides 2021

The 10th District covers 10 Jersey Shore communities in Ocean County: Bay Head, Brick, Island Heights, Lakehurst, Lavallette, Manchester, Mantoloking, Point Pleasant Beach, Seaside Heights, and Toms River.

The district leans red, with 36% of voters registered as Republicans, 24% as Democrats and most of the rest unaffiliated.

In the Senate race, Democrat Emma Mammano, a mental health counselor from Brick, is challenging incumbent Republican James Holzapfel of Toms River.

Both Republican Assembly incumbents Gregory McGuckin, a lawyer from Toms River, and John Catalano, a Brick resident who operates a jewelry store, are running for re-election. The Democratic candidates are Garitt “Tony” Kono, who chairs the Brick Environmental Commission, and Mary “Sharon” Quilter of Seaside Heights.
