Registered voters in New Jersey — or at least some of them — went to the polls on Tuesday to cast ballots in the primary election for governor, state legislators and for some local races. Photojournalist Sue Dorfman visited three polling locations to tell the story of Election Day in images; in some places, poll workers seemed to outnumber voters.
The photo essay is part of the national Votebeat project focusing on the country’s voting system and the integrity of its elections. NJ Spotlight News has been a participating partner in the project.
