Error-free test runs of positive train control completed by NJ Transit

With the successful completion of 384 test runs of its positive train control (PTC) program, New Jersey Transit moves into the Extended Revenue Service Demonstration (ERSD) phase as specified by the Federal Railroad Administration. This means that NJ Transit will expand its testing territory from the 17 miles between Denville and Summit to approximately 100 miles or 33% of the total mileage required for full PTC certification. NJ Transit also submitted its PTC safety plan on schedule, another critical milestone on the path to full certification.
