HHS award to New Jersey to expand access to HIV care

Yesterday, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) awarded $3.3 million to New Jersey to help it expand access to HIV care, treatment, medication and prevention services. The awards, made through the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), are a critical component of the administration’s initiative, Ending the HIV Epidemic: A Plan for America (EHE).

HRSA’s Health Center Program awards will be used to identify at-risk individuals in New Jersey and engage in prevention services, test for HIV and prescribe pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) where appropriate.
