NJ Spotlight | October 8, 2019 | Elections 2019

NJ Spotlight is sharing election coverage with NJTV News, our sister organization, which invited all candidates to complete a brief survey and record a video message; we have included those for all the candidates who responded.

The 31st District covers Bayonne and part of Jersey City.

More than half of all voters in the district are registered as Democrats, and they outnumber unaffiliated voters. Just 8% are registered as Republicans.

Both incumbent Democrats are seeking re-election. They are Assembly members Angela V. McKnight of Jersey City and Nicholas Chiaravalloti of Bayonne.

The Republican candidates are Jason Todd Mushnick and Mary Kay Palange, both of Jersey City.
