The 14th District covers nine communities in Mercer and Middlesex counties: Cranbury, East Windsor, Hamilton, Hightstown, Jamesburg, Monroe, Plainsboro, Robbinsville, and Spotswood.
Almost half of all registered voters are unaffiliated, but of those who have chosen a party, 36 percent are Democrats and 20 percent Republicans. The district is represented by Democrats.
Assemblymen Wayne DeAngelo and Daniel Benson, both of Hamilton, are seeking re-election.
The Republicans running are Thomas Calabrese of Hamilton and Bina Shah, who lists an East Windsor post office box as her address.
