Congressional District 4

NJ Spotlight News | September 17, 2018 | Elections 2018

The 4th Congressional District, which includes portions of Mercer, Monmouth, and Ocean counties, has the most crowded field of candidates, with seven on the ballot.

Republican Rep. Chris Smith, of Hamilton, has represented the district since 1981. The Democratic primary winner is Joshua Welle of Rumson. Michael Rufo of Jackson is the Libertarian candidate. There are four independents: Brian Reynolds of Belford is running under the slogan “Check This Column,” Edward Stackhouse Jr. of Hamilton is running as “Ed the Barber,” Felicia Stoler of Holmdel is calling herself “The Inclusion Candidate,” and Allen Yusufov, also of Holmdel, is running under the slogan “Time for Change.”
