New Jersey’s 10th Congressional District, which covers most of Newark, parts of Jersey City and Bayonne, and several other Essex and Union county communities, has the greatest Democratic majority in the state.
Democratic Rep. Donald Payne Jr., in office since 2012, faces four challengers. The Republican is Agha Khan of Jersey City. Scott DiRoma of East Orange is running as a Libertarian. Two independents are on the ballot: Cynthia Johnson of Glen Ridge is running under the slogan “C4C 2018” and Joanne Miller of Newark is running under the banner “Never Give Up.”
