John Reitmeyer, NJ Spotlight’s budget and public finance writer, discusses the implications of Gov. Phil Murphy’s first budget on NJTV

NJ Spotlight budget and public finance writer John Reitmeyer joined NJTV’s Rhonda Schaffler to crunch the numbers on the $37.4 billion state budget plan that Gov. Phil Murphy proposed to lawmakers at the State House yesterday. They discussed everything from a boost in K-12 education aid that Murphy is planning to deliver to whether the state could be in line for a credit-rating upgrade thanks to the budget, which is the first major policy proposal to come from the first-term Democrat since he took office earlier this year.
