Number of new medicines to treat heart disease being developed in NJ

According to a new report from PhRMA, the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America, 49 of the 200 medications being developed in the United States to fight cardiovascular diseases are in development in New Jersey. Heart disease is the number 1 killer in this country and is responsible for more than 800,000 deaths each year. There are 92 million Americans living with some form of cardiovascular disease, including heart disease, hypertension, and stroke.
