Tissue grafts distributed by NJ nonprofit in 2017

A monumental milestone has been reached by a New Jersey nonprofit, which distributed more than 550,000 tissue grafts worldwide in 2017 – aiding in the care and recovery of an estimated 400,000 people in 50 countries.

MTF Biologics, the world’s largest tissue bank, indicates the grafts were created from donated human skin, bone, tendons, ligaments, cartilage, and placental tissues. They were used in orthopedic procedures, post-mastectomy breast reconstructions, and to heal wounds – among other purposes.
