Contribution of natural gas industry to NJ economy

The New Jersey Petroleum Council just released a new study on the benefits natural gas brings to the state in terms of consumer savings, jobs, and economic growth. According to the report, “Benefits and Opportunities of Natural Gas Use, Transportation, and Production,” the industry sector in 2015 contributed $11.6 billion to the state’s economy. It also supported 79,800 jobs across the state, or 2 percent of the total number of jobs in New Jersey.
