Lesniak Lays Out His Policies, Proposals on WNYC’s Brian Lehrer Show

Democratic hopeful discusses environmental protection, property-tax reform, and criminal justice, among other topics

Raymond Lesniak, state Senator from Union County, has served in the New Jersey Legislature since 1978. The veteran attorney makes his case on The Brian Lehrer show to be the next governor of New Jersey ahead of the June 6 primary.

Lesniak discusses his political priorities, including environmental reform and cleaning up “tens of thousands” of contaminated sites across New Jersey. Also on the agenda, property taxes and criminal justice reform — including a chilling story about waking up at 2:00 in the morning with two men standing over him, one saying “Shoot him,” and how that inspired his thinking on reforming the system.
