Legislative District 25

The 25th District encompasses 21 communities in Morris and Somerset counties: Bernardsville, Boonton Borough and Boonton Township, Chester Borough and Chester Township, Denville, Dover, Mendham Borough and Mendham Township, Mine Hill, Morris Township, Morristown, Mount Arlington, Mountain Lakes, Netcong, Randolph, Rockaway, Roxbury, Victory Gardens, Washington, and Wharton.

In what has long been a solidly Republican district, more than a third of voters are registered with the GOP, about a quarter are Democrats, and most of the rest are unaffiliated.

The district is represented by Republicans, all of whom are seeking re-election. Sen. Anthony R. Bucco of Boonton is running with his son, Assemblyman Anthony M. Bucco, a lawyer and former Boonton Board of Education member, and Assemblyman Michael Patrick Carroll, a Morris Plains lawyer.

Running as Democrats are Lisa Bhimani of Mendham Township for Senate and Thomas Moran of Randolph and Richard Corcoran of Boonton, both unsuccessful in Assembly bids two years ago, trying for the Assembly again.
