Legislative District 6

Situated along the Delaware River, the 6th District encompasses 15 communities straddling Burlington and Camden counties: Berlin Township, Cherry Hill, Collingswood, Gibbsboro, Haddon, Haddonfield, Hi-Nella, Maple Shade, Merchantville, Oaklyn, Pennsauken, Somerdale, Stratford, Tavistock, and Voorhees.

This has been a solidly Democratic district, with 43 percent registering with the “blue” party and 16 percent registering as Republicans. The rest are not affiliated with any party.

Representing the district are Sen. James Beach of Voorhees and Assembly members Louis D. Greenwald, the majority leader who lives in Voorhees, and Pamela Lampitt of Cherry Hill. All the incumbents are running, as well as Democrat Frederick Dande of Cherry Hill, who is challenging for an Assembly seat.

On the Republican side, Robert Shapiro of Haddonfield is running for the Senate; Winston Extavour of Haddonfield and David C. Moy of Maple Shade are running for the Assembly.
