New Jersey’s 9th Congressional District, which contains parts of Bergen, Hudson, and Passaic counties, is considered a safely blue district, with more than a third of voters registered as Democrats. Democratic incumbent Bill Pascrell Jr., in office since 1997, is unopposed. His Republican challenger is frequent candidate Hector Castillo of Paterson. Jeff Boss, another perpetual candidate who lists a Ridgefield Park post office box as his address, and Libertarian Diego Rivera of Clifton round out the field.
