Elections 2016: Congressional District 7

Colleen O'Dea | October 12, 2016 | Elections 2016

New Jersey’s 7th Congressional District includes Hunterdon County and portions of Essex, Somerset, Morris, Union, and Warren. Incumbent Republican Rep. Leonard Lance, who has served District 7 since 2009, won a crowded contested primary and is facing Democrat Peter Jacob of Union. Two independents are also on the ballot: Conservative Arthur Haussmann Jr. of Warren and Libertarian Dan O’Neill of Hamilton. This is a staunchly GOP district, with Republicans outnumbering Democrats.
