District Eight includes parts of New Jersey’s largest cities — Newark and Jersey City — as well as other portions of Hudson and Essex counties, and some Bergen and Union municipalities. The incumbent is Democrat Albio Sires, who has been in Congress since 2006. He faces a primary challenge from Eloy Delgado of Elizabeth. Republican Agha Khan of Jersey City is unopposed. Democrats comprise nearly half of all registered voters, making this district very blue.
