Click to expand/closeNew Jersey’s 11th Congressional District is a historically Republican area that contains portions of Essex, Morris, Passaic, and Sussex Counties. It’s the only district with challenges in both party’s primaries this year. Eleven-term incumbent Rep. Rodney P. Frelinghuysen of Harding is facing GOP challenger Rick Van Glahn of Denville. There are three Democrats vying for a spot on the November ballot: Lee Anne Brogowski of Mount Tabor, Richard McFarlane of Haskell and Joseph Wenzel of West Orange. Republicans outnumber Democrats and the unaffiliated tend to vote red.
