100 immigrants from 35 countries became citizens this past week.
Thank you to everyone who has given so far to In the Shadow of Liberty: New Jersey Immigration. We’re almost to the finish line, and our readers are why.

We still have a little ways to go, and a short time to get there. Remember, this is an all-or-nothing campaign; we must raise $30,000 by 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday evening to get any funds at all.

On Friday, NJ Spotlight editors Lee Keough and John Mooney were guests on the Brian Lehrer Show on WNYC radio, talking about our hopes for this project. When Lehrer asked for immigrant listeners to call in to talk about their place in the state’s economy, the lines lit up. You can listen to that segment below.

There are so many stories to tell. But this project only happens with your help. The clock is ticking — please make a pledge today.
