Painted topless ladies . . . ?

While we’re on winter hiatus we’ll be regularly posting episodes from this compelling podcast on breast cancer, as well as those from our October conference NJ Spotlight on Cities.

Boobs were very much in the news the past two weeks in New York City, what with painted topless ladies posing with tourists in Times Square, the mayor’s overreaction and GoTopless.org’s Pride Parade from Columbus Circle to Bryant Park last Sunday.

Boobs were also very much on my mind as I’d had my originals surgically removed earlier in the month. It’s hard to forget your boobs when you’re packing a breast tissue expander, which feels very much like having a tight underwire bra inside your body 24 hours a day.

On the other hand, I did find myself enjoying suggestions that, with my suddenly downsized breasts, I was looking more svelte.
