Voter Guide 2015: District 39

District 39 encompasses 23 communities in Bergen and Passaic counties: Bloomingdale, Closter, Demarest, Dumont, Emerson, Harrington Park, Haworth, Hillsdale, Mahwah, Montvale, Norwood, Oakland, Old Tappan, Park Ridge, Ramsey, Ringwood, River Vale, Saddle River, Upper Saddle River, Wanaque, Washington, Westwood and Woodcliff Lake.

Voter registration is 27 percent Republican and 23 percent Democrat; most other voters have no declared party affiliation.

In this GOP district, both Republican incumbents are running again. Assemblywoman Holly Schepisi, an attorney elected in 2012, is seeking a third term. Assemblyman Robert Auth, a business owner from Old Tappan, is in his freshman year.

The Democrats opposing them on the ballot, running as a team, are Jeffrey Goldsmith of Woodcliff Lake and John DeRienzo of Haworth.
