Voter Guide 2015: District 20

NJ Spotlight | October 14, 2015 | Elections 2015, Politics

District 20 covers four communities in Union County: Elizabeth, Hillside, Roselle and Union.

This is one of a handful of districts in which Democrats are actually in the majority, outnumbering even unaffiliated voters. Almost 51 percent of those registered are Democrats and just 7 percent are Republicans.

Incumbent Democratic Assembly members Annette Quijano, a municipal prosecutor from Elizabeth who joined the Assembly in 2008, and Jamel Holley, who is the director of public works in Irvington and was named to the lower house earlier this year, are both seeking re-election. Two Republicans, Stephen E. Kozlovich of Union and Roger Stryeski of Roselle, are trying to unseat them.
