Voter Guide 2015: District 7

NJ Spotlight | October 14, 2015 | Elections 2015, Politics

The 7th District encompasses 17 communities in Burlington County: Beverly, Bordentown, Bordentown Township, Burlington, Burlington Township, Cinnaminson, Delanco, Delran, Edgewater Park, Fieldsboro, Florence, Moorestown, Mount Laurel, Palmyra, Riverside, Riverton and Willingboro.

Voter registration is 36 percent Democrat and 20 percent Republican, with most of the rest unaffiliated.

The 7th District has been something of a battleground as it is one of only three districts in the state with split representation: the state senator is a Republican, but both Assembly members are Democrats.

Both incumbents are seeking re-election. They are Herb Conaway of Delanco and Troy Singleton of Palmyra. Conaway, first elected in 1998, is a physician who previously served in the Air Force Medical Corps.

Singleton, finishing his second term, serves as the assistant to the Executive Secretary-Treasurer of the Northeast Regional Council of Carpenters.

The Republicans hoping to unseat them are Bill Conley of Cinnaminson and Rob Prisco of Riverside.
