The Democrats and the Republicans have had their say, so was the investigation a political stunt or a good beginning?

This week, the Special Committee on Investigation into Bridgegate, led by Democrats, released its interim report of current findings. On the one hand, the report did release a few more details about the affair and pointed to inconsistencies in what officials said about the matter at the time. At the same time, the Republican minority members of the committee released their own report, accusing the Democrats of conducting a political witch hunt and basically exonerating Christie.
