Per capita average income in NJ

New Jersey is no longer at the top when it comes to per capita income; it currently ranks fourth, with an average of $55,993, according to the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis.

This ranked New Jersey behind Connecticut, North Dakota, and Massachusetts. The national average is $44,543.

New Jersey’s income grew 2.2 percent from 2012, compared with a national growth rate of 2.6 percent. The state’s compound annual growth rate for the past 10 years was 3.5 percent, as opposed to the national growth rate of 4 percent.
