2014 Voter Guide: District 7

NJ Spotlight | May 27, 2014 | Elections 2014

New Jersey’s 7th Congressional District includes Hunterdon County and portions of Somerset, Morris, Union, and Warren.

Incumbent Republican Rep. Leonard Lance, who has served District 7 since 2009, again fended off a primary challenge and is facing Democrat Janice Kovach, the mayor of Clinton, who was initially kept off the ballot due to problems with ballot signatures, and Libertarian James Gawron.

This is a strongly GOP district, with 29.6 percent of voters registered as Republicans, 23.8 percent as Democrats, and most of those unaffiliated voting red.
