2014 Voter Guide: District 5

NJ Spotlight | May 27, 2014 | Elections 2014

This is New Jersey’s northernmost district and includes parts of Bergen, Passaic, Sussex, and Warren counties.

GOP incumbent Scott Garrett is facing Democrat Roy Cho and independent Mark D. Quick, running on the slogan “For Americans,” as he seeks to retain the seat he’s held since 2003.

The district’s registered voter makeup is 25 percent registered Democrats, 27.4 percent registered Republicans, and 47.6 percent unaffiliated. Although registered Republicans only slightly outnumber registered Democrats, the independents trend red and the district is expected to remain under Republican control in November.
