Rate of Sandy funding that’s been awarded to low- and moderate-income families

The Christie administration put out a release Thursday aimed at what it said were misconceptions about Sandy funding. According to the administration, 71.6 percent of Sandy housing funding has gone to low- and moderate-income families, which are defined as those with incomes less than 80 percent of an area’s median income.

The public has an erroneous conception that low- and moderate-income residents have not been given enough priority, according to the release.
It adds that the administration plans to spend $735 million — or half of its second-round resettlement program — to help homeowners and renters repair and rebuild.
