Lowest temperature in New Jersey Tuesday

The polar vortex that gripped New Jersey Tuesday resulted in temperatures throughout the state of below 10 degrees, with the coldest being -6 degrees at High Point Monument in Sussex County. But temperatures varied throughout the state all day.

NJ Spotlight readers chilled to the bone should be heartened by the news that the weather is expected to turn balmy by the weekend. Accuweather.com is predicting that temperatures will rise to the 50s, but cautions that frigid temperatures and another bout of arctic air could return before the end of the month.
