News of Sandy, the most serious hurricane faced by New Jersey in memory, is full of statistics. As many as 10 million people could be left without power, according to the Edison Electric Institute, an industry organization. The airlines have cancelled at least 6,000 flights. As of early evening Monday, winds have been reported as high as 77 mph, with as much as 9 inches precipitation. And Gov. Chris Christie announced at his press conference Monday evening that about 300,000 people had already lost power even before the storm hit land. More statistics are sure to follow Tuesday morning.
