What better time than in the middle of a hurricane to raise some questions about larger issues:
Is Hurricane Sandy another indication that global climate change is here to stay?
Does the potential of coastal flooding pose a danger to Oyster Creek, much as what happened in Japan?
With record surge of flooding predicted, what should New Jersey do about those homes and businesses repeatedly incurring damage because they are located in the flood zone?
Should the state do more to ensure utilities are adequately prepared for such storms? If so, what are the options — regulations, incentives, fines, liability, and so on?
