Spotlight Podcast: Anti-Bullying Law

John Mooney | March 21, 2012 | Education, Podcasts
The anti-bullying is no longer an unfunded mandate. What happens now?

A week after the state legislature appropriated $1 million to help fund New Jersey’s tough anti-bullying law, NJ Spotlight’s John Mooney sat down with Newsworks NJ to talk about the implications of the new funding and the law itself.

The new funding came out of a ruling that the state had issued an unfunded mandate on schools when requiring that they put in place strict procedures and staffing to address bullying claims. Now, the questions are whether $1 million will be enough to address what has become a significant responsibility for schools and how the money will be distributed.

The podcast is a weekly feature of NJ Spotlight and its partners Newsworks and WHYY Radio.
