Number of the Day: 67 percent

July 25, 2011 | Number of The Day

Although most people are happy with their current financial situation, anxiety for the future is pretty prevalent in New Jersey these days. A recent study on the state’s quality of life conducted by the Monmouth University Polling Institute showed 67 percent of respondents are either very (38 percent) or somewhat (29 percent) concerned that someone in their household will lose his or her job in the next 12 months. Still, most New Jerseyans believe their current financial situation is a good one. Only 16 percent said they don’t have enough money to get along, and 73 percent said their financial situation was either fairly good (59 percent) or very good (15 percent). Indeed, 76 percent say they are very (26 percent) or somewhat (50 percent) satisfied with their current standard of living.
