Celebrate Earth Day tomorrow and take the family to one of the 50 New Jersey state parks, marinas, forests or recreation areas.
Although the state government will be closed in honor of Good Friday, all New Jersey State parks and forests will be open. (Some park offices and historic sites will be closed, however.)
More than 17 million people each year visit the state parks, which are spread throughout the Garden State. They vary in terms of location, ranging from the Sklylands in the north, to the Delaware River, to Liberty State Park on the Hudson, to the Jersey Shore and the Pine Barrens. They also offer a variety of activities, including biking and hiking trails, canoeing, fishing, in-line skating and other recreational pursuits. To help make the best choice, you’ll need a full list of what’s available where.
