The estimated number of full-time undergraduates in all colleges and universities in New Jersey is 87,723, according to the New Jersey Association of State Colleges and Universities. Of those students, 60,000 attend state colleges and universities. About 95 percent of undergraduates in the public system are from New Jersey, but the Garden State also exports about 30,000 students to out-of-state schools. The NJASCU says that number far exceeds that of other states.
