The 14th District covers nine communities in Mercer and Middlesex counties: Cranbury, East Windsor, Hamilton, Hightstown, Jamesburg, Monroe, Plainsboro, Robbinsville, and Spotswood.
Almost half of all registered voters are unaffiliated, but of those who have chosen a party, 36 percent are Democrats and 20 percent Republicans. The district is represented by Democrats.
Sen. Linda Greenstein of Plainsboro and Assemblymen Wayne DeAngelo and Daniel Benson, both of Hamilton, are all seeking re-election.
Hamilton Republican Ileana Schirmer is challenging Greenstein, while Kristin Stout of Robbinsville and Steven Uccio, who lost a bid for a seat in Congress last year, of East Windsor are the Assembly candidates.
