At Menendez Trial, Attention Turns to What Senator Didn’t Do

According to prosecution, Sen. Menendez failed to file financial disclosure forms for almost $60,000

Yesterday’s abbreviated session of the federal corruption trial of U.S. Sen. Bob Menendez focused not on what he allegedly did but on what he failed to do: file financial disclosure forms for nearly $60,000. According to the prosecutor, Menendez did not file Senate Financial Disclosure Forms from 2006 to 2010. It was only after a Washington Post Reporter questioned him about flights aboard co-defendant Dr. Salomon Melgen’s private jet that Menendez reimbursed Melgen for $58,500.
